Texas · Choosing a marketing agency

How to pick a plastic surgery marketing agency.

Many agencies say they do plastic surgery marketing. Fewer know the difference between selling a facial and selling a facelift. Luma Media is a Houston-based marketing agency for surgeons and medical practices, working in Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. Here is what to ask before you sign with anyone, including us.

Ask every agency

  • Who films, and how often are they on site?
  • Have you worked with surgeons, not only med spas?
  • What is included each month, in numbers?
  • What do you report: likes, or booked consults?

Why it matters

Plastic surgery is not med spa marketing.

A facial and a facelift are different decisions. Surgery patients research for weeks or months. They compare several surgeons, read about the procedure, and want to know who will be in the operating room. Marketing built for quick med spa bookings does not answer those questions.

An agency that understands plastic surgery plans for that longer path: procedure videos that teach, a surgeon patients feel they know, and follow-up that keeps going until the consult is booked.

What to look for

Six things a good agency does.

01

Knows the procedures

They know a tummy tuck from a mommy makeover without a briefing, so your shoot day is not spent teaching them.

02

Films on site

Real surgeons, real staff, and real rooms. Stock footage can’t show patients who you are.

03

Handles sensitive content with care

Before-and-after photos and OR footage need a careful eye. Ask how they handle both.

04

Covers the whole path

Social media, procedure videos, your website, email, and search should work together, not sit with five vendors.

05

Reports on consults

Inquiries and booked consults, not just views.

06

Lets you approve everything

Nothing should go live without your sign-off.

Before you sign

Questions to ask any agency.

  • Who will be at my practice on shoot day, and is it the same person each time?
  • How many shoot days, videos, and posts are included each month?
  • Can I see work you have done for other surgeons?
  • How do you handle before-and-after content?
  • What do you report each month, and how do you tie it to consults?
  • Do you promise rankings or AI results? No one can.
How we work

How Luma Media answers them.

01

Who films

Our own Houston crew, with the same lead producer every time. We drive to Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.

02

What is included

1 shoot a month, 7 to 20 or more reels, and 25 to 50 edited photos, based on your plan. Larger plans add long-form procedure videos, blog posts, patient newsletters, and Facebook and Instagram ads.

03

Who we work with

Plastic surgeons are most of our work. We also film for med spas and cosmetic dentists.

04

What we report

Inquiries and booked consults, not just likes and views.

05

What we promise

The work, on schedule. We don’t promise rankings or AI results.

06

Who approves

You do. Every post comes to your phone first, and nothing goes live without your sign-off.

Proof

Don’t take our word for it.

01

MyHoustonSurgeons, Houston

A multi-surgeon plastic and reconstructive practice. We built each doctor their own content library and are on site every month, filming procedure explainers in each surgeon’s words and real footage from the OR. Every shoot day becomes a month of social media, also used in email, YouTube, and the website.

02

BodybyRavi, Houston

We built BodybyRavi a library of long-form procedure videos shaped around the questions patients ask before they book. Patients now meet the surgeon on video long before the consult.

Straight answers

Questions practices ask.

Is there a marketing agency that understands plastic surgery, not just med spas?

Yes. Plastic surgeons are most of Luma Media’s work. We film surgeons for a living, so we know the procedures, the terms, and what patient content is allowed online.

Do you work with plastic surgeons in Dallas?

Yes. Dallas is about four hours up I-45 from our Houston base. Our crew drives up, films on site, and plans the trip around your OR and clinic blocks.

Should I hire a video company or a full-service agency?

A video company hands you files. A full-service agency films, posts, emails, and reports, so the content turns into consults. Read more in video production company vs full service agency.

Do you run Google Ads?

No. We run Facebook and Instagram ads. We don’t run Google Ads.

What does it cost?

It depends on how often we film and what we run for you. We quote after a 30-minute call. For typical market ranges, read our guide to what plastic surgery marketing costs.
